Vision, Mission and/or Purpose of Organization

Our group is part of a world-wide organization formed many, many years ago to assist the poor ad the needy. Locally, we are a group of 26 members of the Catholic church who work from home via phone and computers to financially assist our "Neighbors in Need" throughout all of Indiana County. Working from home, we answer our 24 hour helpline to speak with callers who need payment assistance to avoid an eviction or a utility shut-off, or perhaps to provide a fuel delivery in the cold winter months, or a car payment or insurance to be able to get to work. We also assist with bus passes and/or gas cards for people to get to work and grocery cards to supplement SNAP benefits. Prater cards of hope are included in every mailing.

Affiliations

We "partner' with most agencies and churches throughout Indiana County in order to provide financial assistance when the need is great. These partnerships have brought us closer together as we all work with one caring heart to help others.
