Vision, Mission and/or Purpose of Organization

The Arc of Indiana County is dedicated to empowering and including children and adults with intellectual and developmental delays, as well as other disabilities, in every aspect of community life. Our mission is to promote inclusion by recognizing abilities, providing opportunities, fostering equality, identifying and removing barriers, building strong partnerships, and implementing positive solutions. As an educational advocacy organization, The Arc supports parents and their students as they navigate the school system. This includes assistance with IEP evaluations, the appeal process, mediation requests, and connecting families with essential resources. We also provide a variety of training opportunities for parents, individuals, and agencies, as well as speaker engagements and educational seminars. In addition to our advocacy work, The Arc organizes programs and educational conferences for Indiana County and the surrounding areas. Our office offers a wide range of in-house resources and literature to support parents, students, and individuals with disabilities. We also host monthly parent groups to promote awareness, offer guidance, and provide support for successful transitions.
